Wolfach/Schramberg, [3 November 2026] – Schneider Schreibgeraete GmbH is to acquire Klio-Eterna Schreibgeräte GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 1 January 2027.
By bringing together two long-established writing instrument manufacturers from the Black Forest, Schneider is strengthening its position in the market for promotional writing instruments and laying the foundations for the strategic development of its Promote business division. The background to the takeover is the succession planning at Klio-Eterna. The current owner and managing director, Edeltraud Syllwasschy, is retiring from active business life. As no successor is to be found within the family, a partner has been found in Schneider to ensure the long-term continuation of the company.

Shared values as the cornerstone of the future
Above all, Schneider and Klio-Eterna are united by a shared ethos: both companies stand for writing instruments developed and manufactured in Germany, high quality standards, and act responsibly with future generations in mind. Klio-Eterna and Schneider are the only companies in the industry to be EMAS-certified. This underlines their shared commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility. The two companies are also linked by a shared history. Klio-Eterna had already been closely associated with Schneider in the past, before their paths diverged in 1978. With this acquisition, the two writing instrument manufacturers are re-establishing this connection.

New Opportunities & Continuity
“With the acquisition of Klio-Eterna, we are strengthening our strategic ‘Promote’ business segment and expanding our range of high-quality promotional writing instruments. The two companies complement each other perfectly in terms of their expertise and product ranges, and share the same values regarding quality, responsibility and regional ties. We see great potential in combining our individual strengths in a targeted manner in future and in being able to offer our customers worldwide an even broader range of products,” explains Christian Schneider, Managing Director of Schneider Schreibgeräte GmbH. Klio-Eterna will continue to operate as an organisationally independent entity within the Schneider Group. For customers and business partners, business operations will remain unchanged, as the existing points of contact and established business processes will be retained. Safeguarding the Black Forest site and retaining staff are also central to the succession plan.

With the acquisition of Klio-Eterna, Schneider is focusing on the long-term development of its promotional writing instruments business. The aim is to preserve the respective strengths of both companies, complement them effectively and thereby create additional opportunities for customers, staff and business partners.
